It will start again on 28 April 2024: the Hamburg Marathon. You too can take on the highly attractive and fast course under your running shoes - whether with an individual or relay starting place.

The official start of the Haspa Marathon is directly in front of the main entrance to the exhibition centre. The course goes along the Reeperbahn, along the fish market and the Landungsbrücken, around the Jungfernstieg, past the Außenalster and through the Eppendorf district to the finish in Karolinenstraße at the Hamburg Trade Fair Centre.

The number of kilometres to be completed is extreme: swimming 3.8 kilometres, cycling 180 kilometres and running a marathon distance of 42.195 kilometres - that is the task for the athletes at the Ironman. The swim takes place on an M-shaped course that leads through the Inner and Outer Alster lakes. Then it's on to the bike through HafenCity and the southern metropolitan region. The course will include four crossings of the Köhlbrand Bridge. The final marathon will consist of four laps along the Inner and Outer Alster, with the finish line at Rathausmarkt.

As a classic city run, the hella hamburg half marathon takes you past countless Hamburg tourist attractions and is considered one of the fastest of the major German summer half marathons. The start takes place to the rousing sounds of samba drums at 10:00 am on the four-lane Reeperbahn.
